Design and Build Quality
At 85mm tall, 41.2mm deep and 31.5mm wide, the Aegis Solo is a small mod that comfortably fits in your hand. It weighs 112.5 grams making a light mod that is perfect when portability is a priority.
The mod has rubberised sides and a metal band that surrounds a small leather-like patch. The Geekbape Logo is inscribed on one side of the mod, and the side has Aegis. The mod comes in a variety of colour variations. However, the rubberised part will remain black for all the variations.
Despite its lightweight, the mod feels solid in your hands. The rubber is good quality and the whole mod is well put together with no rattling whatsoever.
The mod is designed and built for durability. As such, only the best quality materials capable of withstanding some abuse have been used in the making of the mod.
The Aegis falls under the class of indestructible mods. It is rated IP67 water and dust resistant. You can submerge it in a metre of water for up to 30 minutes. Being an indestructible mod, it should also be able to withstand several drops.
The design and build quality of the mod lives up to the expectations. It is durable, keeps the water out and will handle drops easily.
The Aegis Solo puts out an excellent performance for a single battery mod. Its no-frills approach keeps things simple, reliable and efficient for wattages of up to 60W, although it can go up to 100W.
The best mode to use on the Aegis Solo Mod is the Wattage mode that works best around 40 – 60W. With heavy usage, the battery should last you a whole day. In the VPC mode, you can set your wattage curve, which gives you a more customised draw. You can also ramp up or taper down your wattage depending on your preferred vaping style.
You can choose from a range of five different wattages per draw, which is exciting as you try to find the option that will work best for you.
