Build Quality and Design

The design of the Freemax Twister is appealing and attractive. The device has solid metal construction, and a graffiti design called colour water transfer printing that ensures the colour on the device lasts longer.

There is a total of six different options, each with a different design and varying complexity. The simplest of the bunch is the Space Black Twister which is perfect for vapers that avoid attention. It's not entirely black, but it is close enough.

The mod is around 10cm longs with a diameter of 24mm. It's not a short mod, but its size is warranted considering it houses a 2300mAh battery and feels adequately sized. It has a large and clicky power button, with the charge port directly placed behind the button. There’s a dial on the bottom that feels very solid with satisfying clicky feedback every 5 watts.

The tank that comes with the Freemax Twister mod follows the same design and graphics as the mod, which is expected. A solid-coloured tank on a funky mod would look out of place.

Performance

From the appearance and build quality of the Twister, it sets a high standard for performance, and it doesn’t disappoint. It is very responsive, the wattages are accurate and it fires rapidly. It works just as power mode, regulated variable wattage tube should.

The 2300mAh battery that comes with the Freemax Twister lasts for two tank when using the 0.2ohm coil and just under one and a half tanks on the 0.15ohm coil when the power is set at 70 watts or an equivalent of 150 puffs per charge.

There's an LED light on the device that will keep you posted on the charge remaining. When the LED is green, the battery is above 65% charge. Yellow indicates between 30 and 65% charge, and red is anything below 30%.

The device supports pass-through charging, a convenient feature that allows you to continue vaping as the device is charging.

Tank

The Freemax Twister comes with the Freemax Firelike 2 Tank, which delivers in every aspect. It has great looks and delivers maximum flavours as it matches with the battery. The tank features a patent-pending air-release hole designed for more natural filling and a less messy vaping experience.

The tank also has a turn-style knob at the bottom of the device. It can be used for adjusting the wattage up to 80W. With these nifty features, it’s impossible not to love the Fireluke 2 Tank and the Twister in general.

Coils

The Fireluke 2 tank works with various original Fireluke coils:

  • Single mesh 0.15-ohm coil rated for 40-80 watts
  • Dual-mesh 0.2-ohm coil rated 40-80 watts

It’s also compatible with the triple-mesh 0.15-ohm coil rated for 50-90 watts and the single mesh ss316L 0.15ohm coil rated for 400-550F in TC. These are not included in the kit but work with the Fireluke tank as well.

The coils are designed to extract as much flavour as possible. The flow is slightly restricted with dual mesh coils but can be adjusted by opening the airflow more. Each of the coils has a special delivery at different temperature ranges making the Freemax Twister an excellent device for a broad range of vapers if you can find the suitable coil for you.

Battery Life and Charging

The Freemax Twister is powered by a real 20600, 2300mAh built-in battery, an ideal match for this device. Although some vapers have expressed that the device is slightly underpowered, the Twister makes up for this by offering you the feature to adjust the wattage without adversely affecting the quality of the vape.

The device is rated 1A charging. It is not the most advanced charging rating but, with the handy pass-through functionality, it doesn’t really matter because you can still vape while the device is charging. Once charged, the battery can easily take most average vapers through a day. Avid vapers might need a charge in between.

Expectedly, vaping at high wattages will drain the battery faster than when you vape at lower wattages. The battery life indicator around the firing button is quite accurate. It stays red long enough for you to get a charger which is quite convenient.

The device charges via a standard USB cable. Once you plug it in, there is a blue light that flashes about 5 times to let you know the device is plugged in properly. When charging, the device lights red and turns off when fully charged.

Operation

The variable wattage mode on this device provides various ways to customise your vaping experience. This opens up even further, considering the device comes with two types of coils.

The first step as soon as you get the Twister is charging it. Luckily, this doesn't take long. In about an hour, the device should be ready. There's an LED light behind the firing buttons that will indicate when the battery is fully charged.

If the light is green, the battery is between 65-100%, yellow is between 30-65%, and red is below 30% battery capacity.

Once the battery is fully charged, you can fill up the device with vape juice using the top fill system. You can set the wattage depending on the coils you want to use. For the X1 coils that come with blended wood pulp/ cotton wicks, 20W is a good place to start. The device fires up quickly, and the cloud production is steady even with the airflow half-open. At 45W, the device is still exceptional and the coils deliver amazing flavour and vapour production.

With the right coils, you can push the battery up to 80W, which is where it gives off its best clouds and flavour especially if you use the X2 coils.
