Coils
The most intriguing feature on the Wotofo Profile RDA has to be the coils. It’s compatible with both mesh and wire coils and pairs very easily.
The mesh heating element makes the most out of the e-juice and maximises on flavour production. The side airflow system also has something to do with this. The 24mm sleeve with an accurate inflow of air provides a cool to warm vape.
To change between the different coils, the Wotofo Profile RDA has wide clamp posts with securing on the sides. You can easily install different kinds of coils and as many times as you like. The addition of the bending tool in the package makes it easier to shape and fine-tune the mesh sheet to allow for even heating.
Design and Build Quality
The Profile has a three-piece design deck featuring the deck, the barrel and a top cap with a removable 810 tip. It's about 24mm in diameter and 28mm tall including the tip. The 2mm thick barrel is held in place with dual O-rings and locks into place for safety. The 810 tip is held into place snugly but is easy to take off when you need to.
The airflows are located at the bottom of the setup. They have the same colour inside and out to give them a low-profile appearance. It has an adjustable airflow, which is an excellent feature that allows every vaper to find its sweet spot.
Build deck
The build deck has an acclaimed spring-loaded ceramic platform that presses the cotton in case of sag. You can dismantle the entire deck, and it comes with replacement coils.
Wotofo has pulled all the stops on this RDA to solve a challenge that most vapers have with wicking mesh “coil.” Such RDAs require thick cotton because of their wide ports. But because of gravity, the cotton starts to sag once saturated with vape juice causing dry hits.
Other than this minor adjustment, the rest of the deck is straightforward. The clamps have sizeable combo screws, but they aren't spring-loaded. However, they open up enough for the mesh.
The deck can also handle single Clapton coils, but this RDA does its best work when used as a mesh-only RDA.
Airflow
The WOTOFO Profile RDA has a dual-sided honeycomb airflow design. The RDA has 19 holes on each side in three stacked rows of 1mm holes. Turn the top cap to adjust the airflow. You can adjust the airflow clockwise or anti-clockwise. The clockwise motion adjusts the top row hole by hole. Once the top row is adjusted, you can adjust the bottom rows simultaneously. For a restricted draw, you can use the counterclockwise motion to close all the rows at the same time.
Performance
Performance is varied depending on the type of coil you use. With the Kanthal A1 0.18-ohm mesh strip, the RDA delivers a clean and accurate flavour with plenty of clouds. The ramp is fast, and the RDA doesn't get hot to the touch.
There's no spitting, flooding, gurgling, or popping. The RDA also squonks like a pro. The juice hits the coil directly, and with the amount of cotton it holds, you don't have to worry about over-squonking.
